25th Annual Crawfish Boil a Success

On April 20th, 2023, the Troy University Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity held their 25th Annual Crawfish Boil on Sorority Hill. The event was a tremendous success, with over 700 people in attendance, consisting of students, faculty, and community members of Troy. The crawfish boil is a highly anticipated annual event that not only brings the community together but raises funds for a great cause.

All ticket sales from the event were given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Alabama, a charity close to the hearts of the fraternity members. This year, the chapter raised a record amount for the society, making them the top fundraising school group in the state of Alabama for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The crawfish boil offered guests all-you-can-eat crawfish, sausage, corn, potatoes, and drinks. Over 1,500 pounds of crawfish and 1,000 pounds of vegetables were used at the event. Musical entertainment was provided by Troy University student, Ethan Womack, who kept the attendees entertained throughout the evening.

Be The Match, a non-profit organization that connects patients with matching donors for life-saving marrow transplants, added several attendees to their registry at the event as well. Attendees had the option to enter the registry via a simple cheek swab.

FarmHouse Fraternity at Troy University is proud to have been able to host this event for the past 25 years and to have been able to contribute to such an important cause. Through the generous support of the attendees and the hard work of the members of the fraternity, the event was a huge success and raised a significant amount of money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Alabama. This chapter continues to be the Top Fundraising School Group in the State of Alabama for the Society.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Crawfish Boil,” said Dalton Cates, a senior member of FarmHouse Fraternity from Leeds, Alabama. “We want to thank everyone who attended and supported our event, and we hope that our contribution can help make a difference in the fight against leukemia and lymphoma.”
